Earth is My Country
I pledge allegiance to this planet, earth. My home is located three orbs from the sun, my natural light bulb and earthly life source and force. I pledge to honor my country, giving respect and due reverence to this plush green rock that has sustained me and all my neighbors for more than a million years. My country has no borders. On my country, you don’t need identification or a passport. On my country, the land we borrow is shared equally among all who live here. On our country, we come together to protect it with every fiber of our being. Our country does not require that we take up arms against each other. Arms are not needed because this is OUR country, and earth is borrowed by ALL of us, for the benefit of ALL of us. Once our time is done, what we have borrowed goes to our children, those who we keep the land for. Then our children become the keepers of the land, borrowing until such time as their children will become the new keepers and borrowers.
Earth is our country. It is time we realize that as with all countries, we are merely citizens until our death. When it is time for us to move on, the new realm which we inhabit in the spirit world will become our new country. We will become expats to a new world, leaving behind this country, earth, for those citizens who will live out there time here. Earth is my country…until it is time for me to travel across the seas of existence.
